A yurt is a round tent of Central Asian origin, with a wooden frame and a fabric cover. Colombia has 5 glamping sites with yurts, one in each municipality: Barichara, Ibagué, Arcabuco, Prado and Santa Marta, the latter in the district of Minca.

Almost no place has only yurts. Three of the five combine the yurt with tipis, three with cabins, and in Ibagué and Prado they sit alongside domes. So when you open a listing, check carefully which unit is being offered to you.
A yurt doesn't behave like a cabin. Ask whether it is set on a wooden platform or directly on the ground, and what kind of floor it has. If the roof has a central opening, find out whether it can be closed, because ventilation depends on it. Confirm whether the bathroom is inside the yurt or in a separate building, and how far away. If the place mixes yurts, tipis and domes, as in Ibagué and Prado, ask for photos of the exact unit you will stay in. And ask how many beds there are, because the round space is divided differently in each one.
Four of the five yurts fall in the area of a major city:
The fifth falls outside those areas: it is in Prado, also in Tolima, at Magicview Glamping's site in that municipality. If you live in Bogotá, Medellín or Cali, none appears in your city's area.
It comes from the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. Inside it is a single circular space, with no divisions and the wooden frame in view.
In Barichara, Ibagué, Arcabuco and Prado, one each, and in Minca, within the municipality of Santa Marta. They are spread across Santander, Tolima, Boyacá and Magdalena.
Not in the Bogotá area. In the central Andean region, the ones that exist are in Arcabuco, in Boyacá, and in Ibagué and Prado, in Tolima.
Yes, four of the five glamping sites with a yurt list a fireplace, and three of them mark a lake nearby. Glamping Finca Corazon, in Arcabuco, is one of them.
At one, yes: Glamping Finca Corazon, in Arcabuco, is listed as pet friendly. For the others, ask the host before bringing your dog.
A yurt has vertical walls in a circle and a low roof; a tipi is a cone of poles covered in canvas that ends in a point. Three of the glamping sites with a yurt also have tipis.
