Glamping chalets in Antioquia

More than half of the chalets are in the Aburrá valley: two in Medellín and one each in Itagüí, Bello, Copacabana and Girardota. In the east there are four, widely separated: La Unión, Guatapé, San Carlos and San Luis. To the west there is just one, in San Jerónimo. There are no chalets in the southwest or the north of the department. If you want a chalet without leaving the metropolitan area, you have six to choose from; if you prefer a town and mountains, the ones in the east are the option.

A chalet usually has two levels, with the bed in a loft under the sloped roof. Ask what the stairs are like and whether there is a bed downstairs in case someone prefers not to climb. If the listing marks a fireplace, find out whether it is wood-burning and whether the firewood is included. Ask whether there is an equipped kitchen or just a coffee maker, and how many beds there are in total. At places that mix a chalet with a cabin or ecolodge, confirm which unit you get. And at Nalua, which accepts pets, ask whether the animal can go up into the loft.

Nalua Entre Montañas Glamping Hotel, in San Jerónimo, is the largest, with fourteen units, and adds a fireplace, pool, river and pets allowed. In La Unión, Montecielo Glamping has just two units with a fireplace and the couples label. Ixcacao Organico Zomac, in San Carlos, combines a chalet and an ecolodge in five units. Finally, Ecohotel Las Vegas, in San Luis, has seven units split between chalets and cabins. None of the four is around the corner, but all four publish WhatsApp and RNT (Colombia's national tourism registry).

Crossing type and extras, four chalets carry the couples label, three have a pool, three a fireplace and three highlight the view. A jacuzzi appears in two. Since several places also offer cabins, those cabins add their own extras: four for couples, three with a fireplace and two with a pool.
