## In short

The reservoir covers 19.34 km² between Calima El Darién and Restrepo, and was built between 1961 and 1966. Today it is surrounded by hotels, recreation centers, and housing developments, so the shore is not just glamping sites. You check each one's rate directly with the lodging.

## Five stays at Lake Calima, side by side

What each listing says, without embellishment:

- Calima Glamping is a cabin with a jacuzzi, view, and lake, and is among the few that accept pets.
- At Camping Safari you sleep in a safari tent, and the area's two safari tents mark a pool.
- Cerro Alto Ecolodge is the only ecolodge in Calima in the list.
- Maca Glamping also appears as a cabin, about 5 km as the crow flies from the lake.
- Glamping Mil Estrellas is listed as glamping, with no further type detail, so ask for photos of the unit.

## Calima El Darién and the other shore of the reservoir

All 9 are registered in Calima, the municipality that appears on the map as Calima El Darién. The reservoir shares its shore with Restrepo, but there are no lodgings on that side in this list. That only 4 of the 9 mark the lake is not a minor detail: not all of them have the water in front. One marks a river, 2 have a jacuzzi, and 2 a pool. If you want to widen the radius, the Valle del Cauca page shows nearby municipalities such as Yotoco or Dagua.

## Cali as the reference city for getting to the lake

All 9 lodgings in Calima count among the glamping sites near Cali, and no other city appears as a reference. The exact measurement you do have here is the distance to the lake, about 5 km as the crow flies for the closest ones. To plan the trip, ask which side of the reservoir you enter from, whether the final road is paved, and where you leave the car. During long weekend (puente festivo) season, write early, because there are only 9 and several have few units.
